2. wrote my last exam of 2009 tonight. only 16 more months until i have two degrees, one of which i no longer really want. then, grad school? then, more grad school? eventually, i'm going to have to Do Something with my life, but being in school is pretty great for keeping those sorts of worries away.
3. my friend dara won a trip to a spa and she invited me as her partner. !!! she's going friday-sunday; i'm tagging along for the saturday-sunday part. so excited so excited. i have promised to bring appropriate pyjamas.

I finished my season (beat the game) in Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside I was the Trailblazers and I went 82-0 and won all 15 playoff games.

I finished reading Crime and Punishment: A Graphic Novel by Korkos/Mairowitz/Dostoyevsky. I liked the adaptation. I also thought the illustrations were phenomenal and captured the spirit of the new Russia very well.

I watched two movies - Chinatown - which was OK, and The Killing of a Chinese Bookie which was really interesting and minimalistic and well shot.

Епіграфом до них вибрано слова Вергілія „Щасливий той, то пізнав причини речей” – на знак того, що багато чого у цьому світі нам складно осягнути тільки розумом. Цьогорічний комплекс заходів об’єднаний програмою „Блаженність у дзеркалі”. В рамках цієї програми відбудеться круглий стіл на тему „Криві дзеркала психіатрії”. Організаторами заходу є кафедра психіатрії та психотерапії ФПДО ЛНМУ ім. Д. Галицького, МО „Дзиґа”, Львівська обласна клінічна психіатрична лікарня, Львівський обласний психоневрологічний диспансер, Українська спілка психотерапевтів. Maybe my brain isn't working properly right now, but could someone explain why "lo" is placed before "peor" in this sentence. I though "lo" was only used in conjunction with verbs.

hey everyone 40 years old and older: what was it like being afraid of communism? i wasn't alive/don't remember the khmer rouge, or the soviets in afghanistan in 1979-89. i sorta kinda remember the berlin wall coming down; and, i do remember the august coup in moscow; and, my memories of tiananmen square are maybe mixed up with a national geographic article plus eric telling me about marching with his parents in beijing when he was 11.

tonight's the night for my international relations 1945-91 exam and i'm nervous that i still Don't Get It. all i know is that john foster dulles was an uncredited sinister troublemaker; general giap never got over the french torturing and killing his wife and child; nobody reacts happily when they're invaded; robert mcnamara thought the nuclear parity was a stabilizing global force, let's argue why he was right and wrong; etc. i don't think that my future includes a career in diplomacy.

My Spanish 3 class rewrote a shortened script to Toy Story, but there's one thing that one of my native students wrote that is throwing me off.

For a sentence that was supposed to mean "Are you worried about what he is going to get" (as in, what kind of presents), one of my native speakers wrote the end as "qué va gara" ... I'm guessing that she meant "va a agarrar" but when I asked her that, she said no and kept saying "gara" ...no a- at the front, no trilled r, and no -ar at the end. Is there something else she could have meant, or maybe does she not realize that the correct word is spelled/pronounced "agarrar"?

got up this morning, wrote my criminology exam. dropped groceries at ms rosalie's, bought my own groceries, etc. trying on pretty party dresses for our birthday party tonight. ten years ago yesterday, i had a party in ottawa, took the train back the next morning, and had another party with my new friend rosalie t. somewhere there is a picture of the two of us from that portentious event that i love to bits, and i wish i could find it to do a then-and-now comparison.
